Submission Requirements
Blog and Newsletter URLS should be sent to newearthhlc@gmail.com Subject heading should read: AWARD CONSIDERATION: BLOG or NEWSLETTER. Completed articles should be sent as an email word document attachment to newearthhlc@gmail.comSubject heading should read AWARD CONSIDERATION: ARTICLE GENERAL or AWARD CONSIDERATION: ARTICLE ACADEMIC. Articles should be between 1,600 and 2,000 words.
POETRY: poetry should be a body of work-not just one poem. The body of work should express high spiritual values that evoke thought, introspection, imagery and that add to the greater awareness of one's higher consciousness and/or help awaken human awareness of issues, ideas and thoughts to a higher level of understanding. The body of work should be sent to newearthhlc@gmail.com as a word attachment and marked, AWARD-POETRY. MUSIC should also be a body of work (rare exceptions will be made) and should be submitted as an mp3-no zip files. The basic criteria is, do we like it. Is it soothing? Does it lead to contemplation? Does it evoke thoughts and images and emotions? Does it soothe the soul and/or drive one to action? Send the mp3 as an email attachment and in the subject put, AWARD-MUSIC. Send to newearthhlc@gmail.com. At the present time lyrics are not being considered as a separate category. BOOKS-It is not necessary that books be published prior to consideration. Books may be self-published. We recognize that some books may be in manuscript form or only available as PDF’S or e-books. However, hard copies of such books are greatly preferred, even if they are just copied pages. If there is a financial hardship regarding hard copy, send an email to newearthhlc@gmail.com. If the book is already published, hard copies are required. There are numerous book categories including non-fiction, fiction, academic, children’s, inspirational and more. If you feel that your book meets the basic criteria, please submit your book.
IMPORTANT REQUIREMENT-PLEASE READ!
WRITTEN MATERIAL THAT EXPRESSES RELIGIOUS DOGMA WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED. WHILE WORKS MAY CONTAIN RELIGIOUS INFORMATION, THE WORK CANNOT PROMOTE SPECIFIC RELIGIOUS IDEOLOGY. FOR EXAMPLE, A WORK THAT IS TRYING TO PUSH CHRISTIANITY WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED. HOWEVER, A WORK THAT INTEGRATES RELIGIOUS AND SPIRITUAL THOUGHT INTO A FORMAT THAT IS AIMED AT RAISING AWARENESS OF COMMON RELIGIOUS THOUGHT AND PRINCIPLES IS ACCEPTABLE. COMPARATIVE WORKS AND THOSE THAT HELP TO INTEGRATE IDEAS INTO A LARGER SPIRITUAL FRAMEWORK SHOULD BE YOUR GUIDE.
